Age 83 of Inver Grove Heights
Passed away on January 5, 2026. Preceded in death by parents, Cyril & Mary Ann.
Survived by loving wife of 49 years, Charlotte; also nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Cyril was born in St. Paul, graduated from Wilson High School in 1961 then St. Paul Vocational-Technical School in 1964. Signed up for the Air Force Reserve and served until discharged in 1970. Started his dream job at Amtrak in July 1976 just before marrying Charlotte on August 7, 1976. A transportation (cars & planes too!) enthusiast since the ripe old age of 2 wks. when his grandfather gave him his first train set, he worked 30 years at Amtrak and participated in many clubs and organizations preserving the history of trains.
He was also an avid modeler and collector of railroad memorabilia and hoped to build a layout at home, but health and circumstances of life always got in the way.
Memorial Service 11:00 am Friday, June 26th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Hts., with visitation 1-hour prior. Interment St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery, Inver Grove Hts.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Burlington Route Historical Society, Minnesota Garden Railway Society, & National Railway Historical Society (Northstar Chapter).
