Age 76 of Inver Grove Heights
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 15, 2026 after a long battle with a chronic illness. Preceded in death by parents, Glen and Mildred Mikkelsen. Survived by loving husband of 55 years, Bob; sons, Eric (Ann) & Jason (Jennifer); grandchildren, Annika, Arabella, Logan, & Alison; siblings, Kurt (Trish) Mikkelsen, Carol (Ron) Tanning & Steve (Jeanne) Mikkelsen; also many other family and friends.
Nancy found great joy in cooking and warmly welcomed family and friends into her home for countless holiday celebrations. She loved to travel, especially to Mexico, where she cherished relaxing by the beach. With her warm smile and genuine interest in others, Nancy never met a stranger and could effortlessly strike up a conversation with anyone.
She was a devoted wife, a loving and proud mother to her sons, and an adoring grandmother to her beloved grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Grandma Fancy Nancy.”
Nancy’s warmth, kindness, and generous spirit touched the lives of so many. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Memorial service 6:00 pm, Wednesday, September 2nd, with visitation 4:00 to 6:00 pm prior to the service at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Private interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
