Bernice loved God, family and country. She was proud of her Polish heritage and loved dancing the Polka with her red-headed Italian husband.  She loved spending time with her family and volunteering at church, where she was a member of the Ste. Anne’s CCW. She was an amazing role-model. As an actively-involved mother of seven, she still found time to work, bowl, golf, & play bocce.  She heartily participated in many outings, TGIF’s & Bernie’s spaghetti dinners with her work family from Little Canada Elementary School and loved monthly card games with the Roberts’ family.  She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved Jesus and Mary and lived out her faith by caring for others.

Bernice’s family would like to thank the staff of Cerenity Care Center in White Bear Lake for the loving physical and spiritual care they gave to our mother.   We continue to pray for all caregivers.

“MOMisms” by Bernice Roberts

Shit.   Damn.  Double Darn.  Oh Dear.

I feel for you, but I can’t reach.

If you don’t behave, I’m going to flush you down the toilet.

 Asshole….with affection.

Only a face a mother could love, and she’d have to be blind.

 That really puckers my cooloe.

You make me so mad, I could kick you in the slats!

That’s a load of crap.

Ack da leber, bona parelli, double darn (anyone know how to spell this?)

Lovely curmudgeon

When punishing one of us, she would say “I had to bear the cross of raising you, so I insist you do this now (whatever the punishment was).”
