Shirley was born and raised in Red Wing MN.  Graduating in 1944, she left a couple of weeks later with two girlfriends for Washington D.C to work for the US Navy as a civilian secretary.  Returning to Red Wing after the war, she eventually moved to So. St. Paul MN to raise her family.

Shirley had a very full life with many interests.  She was a huge animal lover having many dogs, bunnies, an occasional wild squirrel and feeding a multitude of wild ducks.  She loved music, dancing and was an avid reader; with mysteries topping the list.  She was excellent at knitting, blessing many family members with her creations.  Growing many flowers; including award winning irises.  Later on she had her own doll business for many years, winning many first place awards for some of the dolls she owned.

She was also very social belonging to the Jaycees, bowling leagues, dance clubs, Naomi’s Heart and volunteering at church.

Shirley was very much loved and will be missed by many.
