Age 100 of Inver Grove Heights

Survived by sister Janet and his 6 children: Pat (Lynn), Kathy (Dave) Joe (Gloria), Mary (Dick) Kylander, Theresa (Tom) Tichawa, Anna (Dean) Rechtzigel. Bob was also blessed with 19 grandkids and 25 great-grandkids.

Bob proudly served his country in WWII as a First Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps, flying 35 successful missions as a bombardier on the B17’s with his Flying Fortress Squadron.

He met Betsy Lommel in 1947 and married in June 1949. They moved to CA, and he graduated from the University of San Francisco. Wanting to raise their children in MN, they moved back in 1968, and he went on to receive his Master’s degree from University of St. Thomas. He taught English/History at Highland Park High School which he truly enjoyed. He was a devout Catholic and a member at St. Pat’s in IGH for over 50 years.

He was an avid golfer, shooting a hole-in-one at 79 years young.

He loved spending time with his family and sharing stories over a cold Hamm’s beer.

Articulate, soft-spoken, brilliant and witty describe our Dad well and we will miss him dearly, but we’re happy he’s with his beloved Betsy again!
