Jo grew up in St. Paul, MN.  She attended St. Joseph’s Academy and graduated from the College of St. Catherine in 1958 as a Registered Nurse.  Jo met the love of her life, Frank, at a college mixer in 1956.  They were married in 1959 and their family started in 1961.

In their early married years, Jo continued working to help Frank finish dental school.  After the family got started she maintained the household and was the favorite neighborhood nurse.  During those years, she was very involved in the Church of St. Patrick community including the role of catechism instructor for many years.

After the youngest started school, she returned to nursing at St. Joseph’s Hospital on the orthopedic floor as well as hospice.

Jo was a member of Alanon for over 45 years.  She was looking for support and found a community of wonderful people to help each other with some of life’s greatest struggles.  She devoted herself to helping assist others in need.  When she retired from nursing, she took a volunteer assignment to teach a co-dependency class in the outpatient program at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

She was creative and very generous with her various forms of expression, including cross-stitch, ceramics and floral design (which came in very handy for all the weddings!).

Jo was a woman of deep faith and devoted to doing good things while she was here.  She loved her family deeply and provided them with a solid foundation to build from in their own lives.  She will be forever in our hearts.
