Passed away after her long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease on February 5, 2026 at age 73.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Vitek, age 74 who will miss her more than words can express. She is predeceased by her father, Donald Carlsen; mother, Catherine Carlsen and brother, Jeffrey Carlsen.
Sandra was born April 1, 1952. She became a Respiratory Therapist and then a Registered Nurse in 1977. She worked at St. Paul Ramsey Hospital where she met her husband and then worked in a private home for forty years. She also worked at her husbands, Vitek Law Firm in South St. Paul, Minnesota for nearly forty years. She was passionate about rescuing Yorkies and adopting them for over forty years. She had three rescued Yorkies who survive her and sadly miss her and are now with her husband. She had a close group of friends who she had kept in contact since high school and met with regularly and who miss her dearly. She passed away at home with her husband caring for her. She was joyously married to her husband May 6, 1978. They have been continuously together since 1975 over fifty years. She loved all things pink.
The wake will be held at 10:00 a.m. with the Funeral following at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 13th, at the Roberts Funeral & Cremation Chapel Home, 8108 Barbara Avenue, Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota 55077. She then will be buried in the Roselawn Cemetery at 803 West Larpenteur Avenue, Roseville, Minnesota 55113 directly after the service.
