During her Junior year in high school, Grace was voted Homecoming Queen. Following her graduation in 1945, Grace began her career in the field of business.

In 1962, she married Robert William Bevins. From this union, Grace brought three children to the marriage, Robert brought four children to the marriage, and together they had two sons. After Bob’s death in 1980, she remained in Mahtomedi for another 43 years spending the last 21 years as a resident of Briar Cliff Manor where it seemed to be the right fit for her. Besides being involved in many activities and committees, she developed many friendships which she cherished throughout her years there.
