Age 83 formerly of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 9, 2020. Frank grew up in Marble, MN. He graduated from greenway HS in Coleraine, MN. He attended Itasca Junior College before attending ST. Cloud State University where he received a BS in Music Education. Frank later earned his master’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He taught his first five years in Buhl and Virginia, MN. He moved to Minneapolis where he taught for 26 years in the Minneapolis Public Schools. Frank met his wife Barbara at Bryant Jr. High where they both taught. They married in 1968 and had three daughters and eventually five grandchildren. Frank and Barb enjoyed musicals, concerts, and other productions especially events at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre. Frank’s personal hobbies were gardening, flower arranging, jigsaw puzzles and word searches. He really enjoyed working at Bachman’s in south Minneapolis during the summer months. One of his greatest talents was assembling and decorating grapevine wreaths from the vines that grew in his own garden. After retiring from teaching in 1989, Frank went to work at JCPenney in Southdale. He was one of their best suit salesmen and, truth be told, never had someone come back for a refit. Frank’s greatest legacies were his love of music and his love for family, especially his daughters. His example more than any of his words were their inspiration. His kind heart and gently spirit were evident to all. Frank is survived by wife, Barbara; daughters, Lee (Greg) Beaner, Anne (Warren) Knapp & Aimee Blanchard; grandchildren, Rhiannon, Laura, George, Lyla & Wes; sisters, Shirley & Rita. F. A Memorial Mass for Frank will be held at a later date.
