Dale Robert Kain, age 88, of Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2024. He was born on April 7, 1935, in Minnesota Lake, Minnesota, to the late Frederick and Margaret Kain.

After graduating from Bethany College High School, Dale proudly served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. After his military service, he further pursued his education at Mankato State College.

He had a successful career and retired from Minnesota Mutual in 1995, as 2nd Vice President and Corporate Actuary after 35 years of service.  After retirement he enjoyed a secondary career of selling at flea markets, where he continued to enjoy having conversations with everyone he met. He also volunteered his time on the Minnesota State High School Mathematics League where he served as an At-Large Board Member and Treasurer.

Dale was a dedicated member of Emanuel Lutheran Church for almost 60 years, where he actively participated in various positions such as church council president, vice president, treasurer, and financial secretary. He was also involved in the men’s club, Sunday school activities, and organized the Booya for over 50 years. Dale’s commitment extended to coaching softball, baseball, and basketball for his children.

Dale’s hobbies included golf, bowling, fishing, playing cards and cribbage.  He also looked forward to attending sports and activities for his grandchildren.  Dale made many memories with Elaine as they traveled to various destinations, including Alaska, Hawaii, a cruise through the Panama Canal and most recently a trip to Germany to see the Passion Play.

Dale will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 62 years, Elaine Kain; his devoted children, Dawn Alger (Bert Robb), Denise (Darren) Wandersee, and Darren (Jodi) Kain; his cherished grandchildren, Chelsea (Riley) Kellum, Jared Kain (Kristy Nelson), Allison Alger (Christopher Briant), and Abby Kain; his dear sister, Mae (Steve) Hanson; as well as his nephews and niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Margaret Kain; his brother, David Kain; and his sister, Mary (John) Arvila.

A Christian burial service will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m., at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Inver Grove Heights. Visitation will take place two-hours prior to the service. A light lunch will be provided following the interment.  Roberts Funeral & Cremation Chapel in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, is assisting with the arrangements.
