Age 85 of Inver Grove Heights
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 5, 2026. Preceded in death by parents, Everette and Lucille; brothers, Donald, Robert and Glen. Survived by loving wife of 64 years, Marianne; children, Brian (Marcia), Lisa (Greg) Nelson & Andrea (Mike) Arends; grandchildren, Nate (Emily) Haley, Ben (Emily), Will (Sydney), Abby, Sydney (Dillon) & Tommy (Lauren); great grandchildren, Evelyn, Eli, Lyla & Adalyn; also other family and friends.
Lauren served 22 years as a volunteer fireman with the Inver Grove Heights Fire Department. He was a founding member of the B.E.S.T. Foundation and instrumental in starting the annual B.E.S.T. Foundation golf tournament at Inver Wood that raised over $500,000 for graduating students of Simley High School.
Lauren had a successful career as a Civil Engineer Technician with Hennepin County until he entered the family business, Solberg Aggregate where he along with his brothers-in-law, Bob & Carl Solberg successfully carried on the family business. His greatest accomplishment however, was his family and he was happy to tell anyone who would listen, how proud he was of each and every one of them!
Funeral Service 11:00 AM Thursday, October 15th, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7600 Cahill Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 9:30 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Lunch and celebration to follow service at Mendakota Country Club, 2075 Mendakota Drive, Mendota Heights. Private family interment.
In lieu of Flowers memorials preferred to the B.E.S.T. Foundation or the IGH Fire Department.
