Pirkl, Charles John

Born on December 8th, 1956 to Arthur and Mirrella Pirkl, passed away September 8th, 2018 after a long struggle with various illnesses. Chuck was an excellent husband, father, brother, uncle, and much more. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Maher) Pirkl; three children, Pam, Maddi (Bobby) Holmes, and Mike (Marissa Smith); 5 siblings, Mary, Ken (Mary Lou), Mark, Joan (John), and Susan; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and dear friends. Chuck was Inver Grove Heights’ most loved barista for 7 years at his coffee shop Pirks Coffee where he was blessed to meet many wonderful people. He was an avid car lover, Twins, and rock-n-roll fan. Memorial Service 7 PM Friday, September 14th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 4-7 PM prior to the service.

Born July 15, 1938 passed away on September 5, 2018. Preceded in death by husband, Roger; mother, Marcelline (nee Mealey). Survived by children, Laurie (Harold) Kraushar, Julie Davies, Connie (Jay) Emerson, Danny (Rena), Mary Pat (Mike) Horton & Michael; grandchildren, Nick Matt, Derick, Ashley, Gina, Sarah, Aaron, Kellie, Mollie, Brock, Brittany, Samuel, Megan, Andrea, Jack & Dallas; 9 great-grandchildren, 2 on the way; 5 step-great-grandchildren; dear friends, Bob & Monica Travis. Mary loved her trips to St. Thomas, gardening and especially her family. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Wednesday, September 12th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St., Inver Grove Heights. Stromberg-Serpico, Alisa M.

Age 52 formerly of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on September 4, 2018. Preceded in death by mother, Pauline; brothers, Scotty & Terry. Survived by loving daughters, Hannah & Olivia; also other relatives and loving friends. Alisa was a 14-year survivor of lung and brain cancer. She was a free spirit who loved everyone and especially loved to ride her Harley. Memorial Service 7 PM Tuesday, September 11th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 5-7 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.

Schneck, Christopher Brian

4/11/1981 – 9/3/2018

Passed away unexpectedly on September 3rd 2018. Son of Deb Schneck and the late Lawrence Schneck. He leaves behind his wife, Karina Schneck; children, Alora, Savelli and Sihaya Schneck; brother, Robert Schneck; also many aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws who loved him dearly. He was a loving husband and father as well as a caring friend and dedicated and respected union brother and co-worker. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege to have known him. Preceded in death by parents, Frank & Dorothy Bauch; Robert & Alma Umbriet. Beloved parents to Kimberley (Kim) Gifford, Michael (Beth) & Curtis; grandchildren, Todd, Rick. Jason, Marisha & Stephan; great-grandchildren, Kalena, Brianna, Jacob, Kalissa & Bennett; sister, Nancy (Richard) Ades; brother, Roger (Sue) Umbriet. Michael & Shirley were formerly from the South St. Paul area and moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1990. After the passing of Michael, Shirley returned to reside in West St. Paul. Passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on September 3, 2018. Preceded in death by husband, Melvin; daughter Sharon Robinson; sister, Ethel Hearn. Survived by daughter, Judy (Howard) Howell; granddaughters, Sheila (Steve) Mays, Tiffany (Luis) Perez & Sharon Lynn Tyler; grandson, John (Lori) Robinson Jr.; numerous great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. Eloise enjoyed sewing and doing various crafts. She loved her Lord and Family and will be dearly missed. Funeral Service 11 AM Saturday, September 8th, at Southside Baptist Church, 5613 So. Robert Trail, Sunfish Lake. Visitation 10-11 AM prior to the service at church. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorial preferred to Southside Baptist Church.

Age 68 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away on September 1st. After a brief fight with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren.  Preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Pauline Hemmer; in-laws, Fred and Philomena Sweet; daughter-in-law, Tiami. Survived by wife, Dorothy; daughter, Jean (Robert) Roth; sons, Michael (Marcella) & Scott (fiancé Jackie Simola); grandchildren, Nicole (Todd) Huber, Alex, Stephen, Zack Roth, Treasure, David, Liam, Brittany, Angel, Sara, Sammy Hemmer, Jenn, Matt (Destani) Corinna Hemmer, Jasmine, Cassandra, Kaitlyn, William Simola; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Ivan, and baby boy Huber on the way; brother, John; sisters, Mary (Duan) Dixon, Jane (Chris) Hall. Fred retried from Toro Company. In his retirement Fred enjoyed vacationing with his wife, going out to dinner with family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing and ice fishing. Nelson, Charles J., Jr.

Charlie was born to Charles and Elizabeth Nelson on October 4, 1922, in South Bend, MN.  He graduated from Mankato High School in 1942 and became a Naval aviator in the Marine Corp in 1943.  He married Shirley Ann Swensen in 1948, and graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1950.  Charlie was employed by Thompson Lands and Federal Land Bank in Windom, and the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service at the USDA in St. Paul. Charlie served as a Boy Scout Master, a Sunday School teacher at the Methodist Church and on the hospital board in Windom.  He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, sailing and sports.  He enjoyed establishing a conservation acreage area on his farm near Garden City after retiring. He is survived by children, Ann and Bill, his sister, Susan Nelson Pollack and husband, and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Red Cross. Private Family Services were held.
