Passed away 7/29/18 peacefully surrounded by her children.  Preceded in death by husband, John; daughter, Patty; parents, Rose and Al; sister, Marlys; brothers, Bob and Dick. Survived by daughter, Mary (Fred); sons, Larry (Deb), Chuck (Denise), Joe (Barb), Bern (Peg), Ben; 11 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Maryann. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Friday 8/3 at the Church of St. Matthew, 510 Hall Ave., St. Paul. Visitation 1 hour prior to Mass. Private family burial. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Knuckey, Cedric A.

Age 69 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away peacefully on July 21, 2018. Preceded in death by parents, Richard & Hilda. Survived by loving wife of 30 years, Diane; step-children, Gregory (Joanne Lund) Mitcheltree & Richard Mitcheltree; daughter-in-law, Kyla Mitcheltree; grandchildren, Patrick, Ricky, Kayce, Samantha & Connor; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Dorothy) & John (Sue); several nieces, nephews and friends. Cedric was a master fishing rod maker and avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. Memorial Service 4 PM Thursday at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights with fellowship to follow. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service.

Yourczek, James “Jim”

Age 78 of Inver Grove Heights.

Passed away unexpectedly, after a courageous 40-day battle, as a result of a tragic lawn tractor accident.  Preceded in death by beloved son, Neil. Survived by loving wife of 52 years, Shirley (nee Maciej); children, Randy (Tammy), Debbie (Troy) Wynkoop, Wayne (Sheri), Becky (Nathan) Brezniak & Jason (Kristi); grandchildren, Trevor, Miranda, Brendan, Jordyn, Alyssa, Megan, Bria & Alia; 10 brothers & sisters; also survived by godchildren and many relatives & friends. Jim served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Laborers Union Local #563 for over 50 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and cut grass. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday, July 24th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 9-11 AM prior to Mass at the church.  Interment at St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery.

Fleming, Jacalyn R.

Age 56 of Minneapolis, formerly of South St. Paul.

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on July 15, 2018. Preceded in death by father, John Fleming; sister, Cynthia Fleming. Survived by mother, Gloria Hughes; sister, Cathryn (Larry) Dimmen. Jacalyn graduated from South St. Paul High School and Gustavus Adolphus College. She received her Master’s degree at the University of Nebraska and her teaching credentials from San Jose State University. She graduated from Albany Law School in 2001 and was admitted to the Bar at the US District Court of New York. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 5-8 PM Monday, July 23rd, at Roberts Funeral Home. 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to MN Ovarian Cancer Association (MOCA) or Land Stewardship Project.

September 28, 1934 ~ July 16, 2018

Preceded in death by parents, Louis & Ann (Tomlin); brothers, Louis (Mary) & Charles; nephew, Louis. Survived by best friend and devoted wife of 57 years, Ruth; sisters, Patricia Mitshulis, Frances Mitshulis & Antoinette (Don) Welk; brother, George (Lynne); also many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Buzz was a kind, wonderful and generous man and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Rest in Peace. Private family services were held.

Passed away peacefully on July 13, 2018. Scott is survived by his wife, Michelle (Larson); parents Nicholas and Germaine; brothers Michael (Leslie Bujold), Troy (Alla), Trent (Liubov); sister Tania(Jason). Funeral Service 11 am Friday, July 20 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 7070 Bovey Ave., Inver Grove Heights, MN, followed by a light luncheon.

Johnston, James Melvin Jr.

Age 83 of Inver Grove Heights

Born to James Sr., and Lillian (Lind) on 11/1/1934 in St. Paul. Married Margaret (Peggy) Nelson an 9/5/1959 and built their home on Simley Lake. He is survived by wife of 59 years, Peggy; children, Lynn (Jim) Reed, Terri (Dave) Lambach, Mark (Michelle) & P. J. (Rachelle); grandchildren, Kari(Jared), Nikki (Zach), William, Christopher (Bre), Lisa (Justin), Elizabeth (Nate), Ben, Hunter & Amanda; great-grandchildren, Gemma, Grace, Nora, Margaret (Maggie) and Leo James. Jim worked as a welder and diesel mechanic. He enjoyed many many hobbies and served his community as a reserve police officer and a volunteer fire fighter. Dad taught us all to ride motorcycles and snowmobiles. He liked hill climbing, restoring cars, his favorite was his Candy Apple red Mustang, and building and flying model airplanes. He rode a Harley when people thought they were all Hells angels, him and friends could clear a park. He was a proud member of the Mayflower Society and served in the Army Reserves. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Monday, July 16th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 6-8 PM, Sunday July 15th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Also 10-11 Am prior to Mass at church. Interment St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery.

Jacquelyn Dorothy Norton, Smith, Hanson (1927-2018)

With much sadness our mother passed away peacefully on June 29, 2018 at the Estates of Greeley, Stillwater, Minnesota. Jackie was survived by her brother, Richard Norton. She was also survived by her children, Penny Smith Odom, Linda Smith Thompson, Cynthia Smith Schmitz, Michael Smith, Deborah Smith Krump, Bradley Smith, Paulette Smith Dennler and step-children, Dee Hanson Campeau, Irv Hanson, Dale Hanson, Linda Hanson McKeever, Cindy Hanson Stevensen, Bruce Hanson, Julie Hanson Grunwald, Bernie Hanson and Nancy Hanson Johnston. In addition, Jackie welcomed many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Schunk, William Francis

86, of Inver Grove Heights (44 years)

Passed away on June 28, 2018, with loving family at his side. Bill was born on February 14th,1932 and proudly proclaimed himself a “natural born lover”. He will be greatly missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him. Bill is a Graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Software Engineer of 35 years (Control Data, Honeywell, U.S. Navy), accomplished outdoorsman and last but not least a Green Bay Packers fan. He was preceded in death by his father, George and mother, Frances(Cooney) Schunk; brothers, Duayne, George Jr. and LaVern Schunk; sisters, Evelyn Schroeder, Juanita Zorn, Letitia Rawn, and Darlene Wallack. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, former Lt. Governor of Minnesota Mae (Gasparac) and his son Benjamin (Amy Twedt); brother, John “Jack” of Snohomish, WA and sisters, JoAnn Caswell of Stanley, WI and Yvonne Slowiak of Acron, OH. A visitation and service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. respectively Monday, July 2nd at Emanuel Lutheran Church 2075 70th St. E. Inver Grove Heights, MN. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to MN Veterans.
