Age 64 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away suddenly on October 3, 2017. Preceded in death by parents, Raoul & Bernadette; twin brother, Leonard; brother-in-law, Rick Rowell. Survived by children, Elizabeth (Ed) Dean, Aimee Hofer, Bobbie Jo (David) Larsen & Daniel; 8 grandchildren; daughter, Victoria and her family in Alaska; siblings, Stephen (Shelly), Michelle (Bill) Falk, Sue Rowell, James, Cathy (Keith) Limrick & Charles (Terri); also other family & friends. Age 61 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away peacefully on September 30, 2017 surrounded by family after a battle with cancer. Survived by loving daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Roloff & Megan (Joe) Czeck; grandchildren, Logan, Allison & Jane; many other relatives & friends. Mertens, John “Jack”

Age 79 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away peacefully on September 26, 2017. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barb; daughters, Linda (Don) Lockery, Kathy (Mike) Edgell & Denise (Ben) Mergens; sons, John (Terry) & Jeff (Kelly); grandchildren, Erika Lockery, Emily Kelly, Nikki Mehus, Jaime Beyersdorf, Theresa Mergens, Megan Mergens, Sam Mergens, Kristen Mertens, Lindsey Mertens, Amanda Mertens, Kaylee Mertens, Abigail Mertens; 5 great-grandchildren. John was a 1956 graduate of Cretin High School.  John retired from Northwest Airlines in 1997 after 36 years of service, he began his career as an aircraft mechanic and by the time of his retirement was a Director in aircraft maintenance.  John became an Aviation Safety Inspector at the Federal Aviation Administration in 1997 and retired in 2004.  John also served as a volunteer fireman for 22 years with the IGH Fire Department from 1971 until 1993. Smith, Kathleen A. (Kannel)

Age 82 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away on September 27, 2017.  Kathy was welcomed into heaven by her parents, John & Marie Kannel, and brothers Jim, Dale, and Dick.  She leaves behind her beloved husband of 60 years, Daniel; sons, Steven and Jami, Tony, David and Nicole; five grandchildren, Ian (& Katie), Miranda, Sabrina, Courtney, and Dominic; two great-granddaughters, Eva and Clare; sister, Geri Brunner.  Kathy was an active member of St. Patrick’s church in Inver Grove Heights and thoroughly enjoyed singing in the choir.  She was a member and past president of the Santa Marians and St. Patrick’s Alter & Rosary Society.  Kathy was involved in the Boy Scouts of America and had been awarded the St. George and the Silver Beaver. Age 85 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, On September 20, 2017. Preceded in death by parents, Raymond & Myrtle; 3 brothers; 1 sister. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Mary; children, Debby (Tim) Kabrick, John, Diane (Tim) Needham & Steve (Ellen); 9 grandchildren and their spouses; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; 2 sisters; 2 brothers-in-law; 1 sister-in-law. Larry was a Korean War Veteran and retired after 33 years with Ecolab. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, spending time with family and was an active member at Mt. Bethel UMC. Funeral Service 11 AM Monday, September 25th, at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 3239 70th St., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 3-6 PM Sunday at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Also 10-11 AM prior to the service at church. Interment St. Croix Falls Cemetery.

Dixon, Lyle William

Age 81, of Inver Grove Heights.  

Passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday September 12, 2017. Survived by wife, Margaret (Mickey O’Malley); daughter, Shawn; granddaughter, Jaelyn Hemsworth; sister, Dorothea (Charles) Reed; sister-in-law, Mary Studer and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held Friday October 6th, at the VETERANS MEMORIAL COMMUNITY CENTER (Community room 1), 8055 Barbara Ave E, Inver Grove Heights, MN.  A gathering of friends and family will begin at 1030am, a brief Eulogy at 11am with lunch to follow. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to Shriners Hospital for children.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 18, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Asa & Vonda and nephew, Nick. Survived by loving wife of 40 years, Rita; siblings, Jean (Jimmy) Flakne, Kenneth (Georgia), David (Charlene), Gerald (Susan), Ronald (Marie), Linda (Ken) Rapp, Gail (Jim) Kronmiller, Karen (William) Wambach, Pamela (Craig) Johnson, Cheryl (Robert) Harty and many nieces & nephews. Dick was a graduate of Winona St. University and longtime employee of Wells Fargo Bank. Memorial Service 1:30 PM Saturday, September 23rd, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 11 AM – 1:30 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to cancer research.

John retired after 30 years as a member of UAW Local 879 working at the Ford Assembly Plant. Keyworth, Judy A. (Becker)

Passed away on September 8, 2017, surrounded by family and friends, after a valiant battle with cancer. Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Frank Becker.  Judy was born in Medford, Minnesota and attended school in Northfield, MN, until her family moved to Saint Paul, MN in 1959.  Judy enjoyed sports, especially the Minnesota Twins, reading, being at the lake and loved spending time with family and friends.  Judy will be lovingly remembered and missed by husband, Mark Keyworth.  Judy was the loving mother of Kimberly Sheahan (Mark), Heidi Buckenberger (Tim), and Patrick Sommers. She was the proud grandmother of her five grandchildren Zachary, Brady and Kathryn Sheahan; Emily and Jack Buckenberger. Judy is also survived by her sisters, Mary Kay O’Rourke (Michael) and Janet Johnson (Glen).  She will also be remembered by several nieces, nephews, as well as her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Thursday, September 14th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd Street E, Inver Grove Heights, MN  55076.  Visitation will begin at 9am until the time of service. Age 79 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away on September 5, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. Preceded in death by daughter, Linda. Survived by loving husband of 57 years, Michael; daughter, Darlene; son, Michael J. (Karen); grandson, Ryan; granddaughter, Kayla; 2 brothers; 1 sister; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Connie loved to travel, play bingo in West St. Paul and go to the casino. She gave graciously of her time and talents to her church and family. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, September 8th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St., Inver Grove Heights.
