Passed Away on June 7, 2016.

Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Friend. Ended his life journey on. Preceded in death by son, Eddie and the mother of his children, Charlene. Survived by children, Connie (Dick) Kehr, Mike (Lacy), Linda (Ron) Panchot & Laura; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Phil (Audrey) & Paul; also many nieces, nephews & dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday, June 15th, at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 749 6th Ave. So., South St. Paul. Visitation 9:30 – 11 AM prior to Mass at church. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Children’s Hospitals and Clinics, Down Syndrome Clinic.

Passed Away on June 1, 2016. Age 54 of Stillwater, Formerly of South St. Paul

 

Called home suddenly on June 1, 2016. Survived by loving wife of 33 years, Julie; sons, Matthew & Nathan; parents, Jan Hoaglan & Ken Erickson (Carla Bluhm), Robert & Edie Seerup; brother, Mark; sister, Julie (Kevin) Meeder; nieces & nephews, Andy & Adam Erickson, Ben, Claire & Natalie Meeder; also aunts, uncles, cousins & friends. David was an engineer at 3M for 32 years. Funeral Service 3 PM Sunday, June 5th, at St. James Lutheran Church, 460 W. Annapolis St., West St. Paul. Visitation 1-3 PM prior to the service. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery.

Prokop, Charlotte Joann (Nee Wiens)

Passed Away on May 31, 2016. Age 93 of Inver Grove Heights

Preceded in death by beloved husband, Clarence; parents, John and Sarah Wiens; brothers, Harold, Jack, Ed, Theodore, Arnold (Chief); sister, Blondina; and great-grandson, Gavin. Survived by sister, Marcella Siegwarth; sons, Donald (Linda), David (Carol); daughters, Diane (Dave Keller) and Debra; 9 grandchildren; 14 grandchildren. Charlotte was born October 29, 1922 in Delft, Minnesota. She attended Bible College. She worked during World War II as “Rosie the Riveter”. She met Clarence on a blind date in early 1948 and married November 27, 1948. She worked in the St. Paul School System for 20 years. She loved volleyball, which she played until 91 years old. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Monday, June 6th. Visitation 10:00-11:00 am prior to Mass at the Church of St. Joseph, 1154 Seminole Ave, West St. Paul, MN. Interment at Fort Snelling. Special thanks to Heartland Hospice for their loving care.

Passed Away on May 29, 2016. Age 80 of Inver Grove Heights

Annie was born in Morton, MN. Preceded in death by husband, Fred; parents, Ernest & Mary Smart; brothers, Vivian, Bryce & Bill; sisters, Betty Lou, Sylvia & Doris. Survived by daughters, Sue (Jayme) Rose & Patty (Dave) Saltness; son, Mike; grandchildren, Brittany, Jessica, Matt, Mike, Nate & Marc; great-granddaughter, Aly; sisters, Ermalee (Jim) Menk & Avis Ness; also other family & friends. Annie enjoyed camping with her family and loved her Beagles. Memorial Service 11 AM Monday, June 6th at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 3239 70th St. Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 10-11 AM prior to the service. Interment to follow at 3:30 PM at the Morton City Cemetery, Morton, MN.

 

Henke, Winston “Bud”

Passed Away on May 23rd, 2016. Age 94 of Inver Grove Heights

Died suddenly on May 23rd, along with his wife, Dorothy “Dottie” Kropp (89). He served in the Third Marine Division during WWII as a radio operator. He participated in campaigns at Bouganville, Guam and Iwo Jima. After the war, he worked as an electrician until he retired in 1984. He was active in his church, the Lions Club, the V.F.W. and the Shoebox Ministry. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Regena (Reko) Henke; his former wife, Lillian Conkey Henke; son, Bobby McKnight; step-son, John Kropp. He is survived by his first wife, Shirley Wangen-Kronkowski; daughters, Pam Lippert (Tony), Laurel Henke (Jon Krier), Judy Borgeson (Frank); son, Gary McKnight; step-daughter, Becky Carroll (Paul); and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery with full military honors on July 13th at 10:30am (Assembly Area #4).

 

Kruse, Cameron G.

Passed Away on May 20, 2016. Age 74 of Inver Grove Heights

Age 74, passed away at home on Friday afternoon, May 20, 2016, after battling cancer for several years. Cam was born December 15, 1941 as the oldest child to Matthew and Irene Kruse in Bryant, South Dakota. He graduated from Bryant High School. He attended Gustavus Adolphus College for three years and finished his engineering bachelor’s and master’s degrees at South Dakota State University. He was united in marriage to his loving wife, Nancy Larson, in 1963 and they shared almost 53 years of marriage. They started married life in South Dakota, but soon moved to Minnesota and settled in Mendota Heights where they have resided ever since. He is also survived by two children: Gregg Kruse of Hastings, Minnesota and Karen (Dale) Kruse Homolka of Jacksonville, Illinois. He adored his five grandchildren: McKenzie, Wyatt and Quinn Kruse; Nora and Sophie Homolka. He and Nancy spent countless hours at hockey games, dance recitals, ball games, and musical performances and were always there to support them in all of their interests. He is survived by siblings Inez (recently deceased, Leon) Eddy from Huron, South Dakota; Al (Paige) Kruse from Bryant, South Dakota; and Teryl (Gary) Akkerman from DeSmet, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by parents Matthew and Irene Kruse. Cam began his career in 1965 with the Minnesota Department of Transportation. In 1968, he was hired as a civil engineer with Braun Intertec. He was the second engineer to be hired for the firm and stayed with them over 40 years until his retirement. His leadership and passion for the industry made a great impact. His years at Braun brought him all over the U.S. and abroad to Honduras, China, Ukraine, England and more. Cam battled cancer for years and never gave up on sharing God’s love and trying to make the world a better place. He taught us all that God created, and is still creating, everything we see and have. He was an active member of their church family at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. He led the congregation as President, chaired the stewardship committee, sang in a men’s quartet, the church choir, played with praise band, and many other service related roles. He often told stories about a very special mission trip he took to Tanzania. He greatly enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with yearly trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and hunting and fishing trips throughout Minnesota and South Dakota. He pursued many hobbies including music, golf, woodworking, and playing the guitar. In recent years, his passion turned to social justice issues. He was active in a local group, ISAIAH, a faith-based organization working for racial and economic equity. A Celebration of Life service will be on Wednesday, June 1 at 11 a.m. at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, Inver Grove Heights, MN. Luncheon to follow. Visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service and also on Tuesday, May 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church. Private interment at Acacia Park Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN at a later date. Memorials preferred to Amazing Grace Lutheran Church or ISAIAH: Faith in Democracy.
