Preceded in death by parents, Henry and Matie; parents-in-law, Elmer and Alvina Wille; brothers, Roy, Bill; sisters, Lucille, Gladys, Elva, Alice, Lois, Pearl. Survived by wife of 65 years, Doris; brothers, Lenard (Betty), Joe (Sandra); sisters, Ruth, Marie, Roseanne; daughters, Laurel, Lisa (Brad); sons, Ken, Kim (Monica), Lance (Donna) and Kevin; granddaughters, Holly, Heather (Nathan); grandsons, Jason (Amy), Christopher, Jeff, Daniel, Ted, Matthew, Aaron; greats, Allison and Joshua. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, woodworking, gardening. Funeral Service 11 AM Saturday, January 16th at Concordia Lutheran Church where he was a charter member, 255 West Douglas St., South St Paul, MN 55075. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service at church. Luncheon to follow.

Passed away peacefully, on January 4, 2016, at the age of 89. Preceded in death by son, Roger. Survived by loving husband of 71 years, Floyd; children, Jerry (Marie), Paul, Ardith (Steven) Denzer, Gail (Brian) Rogers & Mark (Mary); 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Arlene Najmon; brother, Vernon Mercer. Memorial Service 11 AM Thursday, January 7th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Passed Away on December 24, 2015. Age 67 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on December 24, 2015. Preceded in death by father, Glen Robbins. Survived by loving husband of 45 years, Tom; children, Ryan (Kellee), Brandon (Jaci) & Robin (Sean) O’Reilly; 5 grandchildren; mother, Esther Robbins; siblings, Cheryl (Tom) Bauman, Gail Garnet, Steve (Sue) Robbins, Judy (Dennis) Gehler, William Robbins & Mary (George) Butkovich; also many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joni taught elementary school in Inver Grove Heights from 1970-2006. Guided by her strong belief in faith she was an active member of St. Patrick’s Church and was often found passionately engaged in golf, pickle ball and morning walks with friends. She leaves endless great memories of time spent with her grandchildren. Visitation 4-8 PM Monday, December 28th,at the Church of St. Patrick 3535 72nd St. E., Inver Grove Heights. Mass of Christion Burial 11 AM Tuesday also at St. Patrick’s Church with a visitation 10-11 AM prior to Mass. Interment St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred. Special thanks to MN Oncology and Allina Hospice for their compassionate care the last 3 ½ years.

Passed Away on December 22, 2015. Age 95 of Inver Grove Heights, Formerly of Edina.

Passed away on December 22, 2015. Preceded in death by wives, Priscilla “Perky” and Marguerite “Maggie”. Survived by children, Michael, Susan (Robert) Sonnek, Steve (Cate), Laurie (Jim) Erdall; grandchildren, AJ, Courtney, Tiffany, Tom, Paul, Andy, Isaac & Alex; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Francis (Ethel); the entire O’Neil Family, other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Monday, December 28th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St. E., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 8:30-10 AM prior to Mass at church. Interment Ft. Hess, Shirley M.

Passed Away on December 18, 2015.  Age 92 of Inver Grove Heights,  formerly of Oelwein

Died peacefully on December 18, 2015 at Brookdale Senior Housing, Inver Grove Heights MN surrounded by family members. Shirley graduated from Maynard High School in 1940, and went on to attend Gates Business College in Waterloo. She then worked for the railroad until she enlisted in the Women’s Army Corp (WAC) in 1944. She was stationed in Florida during WWII with an additional assignment at the Pentagon in Washington DC.   Shirley was united in marriage to Roger Hess in 1949 in Jesup before moving to Oelwein.  She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Catholic Daughters and the American Legion. Preceded in death by husband, Roger; son, Eugene; brother, David Sanderson; sister, Grace Halstead. Survived by daughters; Sharon(David) Hinrichs of Inver Grove Heights MN; Karolyn (Jack) Schiltgen of Excelsior MN and Diane Hess of St Louis Park MN; sisters; Sylvia Wells of Traer and Lorraine Sieck of Maynard; sister-in-law, Almira Weisert of Nora Springs; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A private family Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Inver Grove Heights MN. Memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Oelwein.

 

O’Donnell, Theresa K. “Terry”

Passed Away on December 13, 2015. Age 55 of St. Paul,  MN

Angel in Our Family Passed away December 13, 2015. She was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey.  Terry is survived by her son, Jonathan Hixon; sister, Patty (Bobby) Bauer; brothers, Tom (Gail) O’Donnell, Mike O’Donnell; nephews, Todd (Wendy) Anderson, Craig (Stacy) Anderson, nieces, Breanna (Sean) Kealey and Brittany O’Donnell; friends, Lynann (Mike) Dorrian, Leslie Brown Stensgaard, Lori Brown, Jill Gegan, & Marie Overby; a host of great-nieces, nephews, other lifelong friends, and extended family and coworkers. Life Celebration will be Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 5pm to 9pm at Roberts Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 8108 Barbara Ave. Inver Grove Heights, MN. Special thanks to the wonderful ICU staff and doctors at the U of M hospital who provided the utmost care for Terry and to the family during our presence there. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred and referred to her son.

Passed Away on December 13, 2015. Age 61 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away at home with his wife, Patti at his side on December 13, 2015, after a yearlong battle with kidney cancer. Survived by, wife, Patti; daughters, Nicole Stettner & Rebecca (Troy) Kunshier; grandchildren, Haley, Alayna, Taber; son, Tony (Sara) Patrick; grandchildren, Owen & Charlie Jean. Memorial Service 11 AM Tuesday, January 12th, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7600 Cahill Ave. Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 10-11 AM prior to the service.

 

Hoffman, Heidi B. (Nee Tritthaler)

Passed Away on December 12, 2015. Age 89 of South St. Paul

Preceded in death by mother, Barbara Tritthaler; husband, Gerhard Hoffmann. Survived by loving son, Mark (Cathy) Hoffmann; granddaughter, Posey. Heidi dedicated her life to helping others while working at MN Science Museum, St. John Vianney School and Cherokee St. Bank. She will be dearly missed. Memorial Service 1 PM Thursday, December 17th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave. Inver Grove Heights. Visitation one hour prior to the service., Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. Labre Indian School, Blackfoot, MT.

Passed Away on December 8, 2015. Age 61 of Inver Grove Heights

Wanda took the journey to be with her Lord and Savior on December 8, 2015. Wanda is preceded in death by husband, Robert E. Babcock and parents, Ed and Nora Mewes; sister, Dorothy (Roger) McGinty. She is survived by her son, William E. Babcock (Lynda) and daughter B.J. Kranz (Bill), and the lights of her life—her grandchildren: Courtney (Andy) Steitz, Claire and Robert Kranz; Lauren Babcock (friend, Matt Heiler) and Alex Babcock; friends, Vee Morrow, Priscilla Gillan & Patty Smith. A celebration of Wanda’s life and entrance to her heavenly home will be held 1 PM Saturday, December 12th, at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 7600 Cahill Avenue, Inver Grove Heights. Private interment at Fort Snelling Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Good Shepard Lutheran Church’s Building Fund.
