Ehnstrom, Jewell Hannah (Hart)
Age 89 of South St. Paul.
Passed away peacefully on August 31, 2022. Jewell was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Robert “Bob”; parents, Frederick & Hannah Hart; brother & sister, Russell & Ruth. She is survived by her sons, Mark (Laura) of San Antonio, Texas, and David (Mary Jo) of Inver Grove Heights; grandchildren, Danika, Jocelyn, and Dan; great grandchildren, Anika, Jensen, Ayrton, Luca, Hugo & Gabriel. Jewell had a love of the outdoors and spent late spring, summer and fall at the family cabin in Longville. She was an exceptional fisherman. It was not uncommon during fishing season for her to fish 8-10 hours a day and if they weren’t biting, she would stay and try longer. Annual trips to Las Vegas in February to escape the cold for a week were a must for over 25 years. Jewell at the slots and Bob at the blackjack and craps table. A good cook, Jewell’s recipes are still used by many family members. A Celebration of Life will be held 4:30-7 pm Friday, Nov. 11th at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Following the family welcomes friends and relatives at the family residence.
Schowalter, Wade Robert
Age 68 of Inver Grove Heights.
Passed away peacefully while elk hunting in Colorado on October 15, 2022. He grew up and graduated from White Bear Lake in 1972. He worked over 40 years in the trucking industry, most recently at North American Trailer. Wade has so many lifelong friends. His passion was hunting, fishing, fast cars and watching sports. His family was the center of his life. Preceded in death by his parents, Dick & Ruth Schowalter. Survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathy; children, Joe, Amy (Josh) & Wade; grandchildren, Kennedy & Lincoln; brother, Rick (Debby).
Visitation 5-8 pm Thursday, Oct. 27th at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Funeral Service 11 am Friday, Oct. 28th at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7600 Cahill Ave. E, Inver Grove Heights with visitation 1 hour prior to service at church. Luncheon to follow at church. Interment at General Lutheran Cemetery, South St. Paul.
Johnson, Marjorie L. (nee Lavoie)
Age 90 of Oakdale
Marjorie L. Johnson (nee Lavoie), 90, of Oakdale passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 17, 2022.
Marjorie was born on May 24, 1932 to Mark and Emma Lavoie at home in Burchard, MN. She grew up on the family farm outside Tyler, MN. After graduating in 1950 from Tyler High School, she worked at the local café and then Brentwood Eggs.
In 1956 Marjorie married George E. Johnson. They settled in Oakdale, MN in 1959 and raised four children, Jorie, Evy, Vicky and Rodney.
Marjorie was a talented seamstress, making clothing for herself and family. She was a talented homemaker. She worked several part time jobs including at Montgomery Wards and Video Ventures. In the 1990’s Marjorie and George owned and managed LaVoie’s Kaffee coffee shop in Oakdale.
Marjorie loved travel. She traveled the world with George and sometimes family, seeing Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Italy, Germany, and Hawaii just to name a few places. She was also interested in genealogy– doing research and keeping records on the Lavoie and Kronke families.
Marjorie was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Paul and head of the Ladies Aid for many years.
As the Johnson family grew, Marjorie loved taking care of us all, especially babysitting her grandchildren.
Our family sends gratitude to the caregivers at Woodbury Estates and Prelude Homes and Services.
Preceded in death by husband, George; parents, Mark and Emma; brother Donald, grandsons Adam and Joshua. Survived by daughters, Jorie (Keith) Miller, Evy Snyder and Vicky Johnson; son, Rodney (Megan) Johnson; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Gertrude.

Passed away on October 13, 2022. Preceded in death by parents, John, Charlotte and Verna Heimerl. Survived by wife, Kari; best buddy, Dan Nitti; children, Connie, Shawn (Kim), Mike (Stefani), Jeff (Dani) and Shannon (Kerri); grandchildren, Kristin (Chip), Janelle, Lauren, Dakota, Eddie, Carter, Jaiden, Savannah, Ashlyn and Kailey; great granddaughters, Hailey and Raelynn; sister, Theresa (Bob) and brothers, Bill and George (Barb) along with many other family and friends. Terlinde, Donald Joseph
Age 66 of Inver Grove Heights
Passed away peacefully in his home on October 7th, 2022.
Don was born August 7th, 1956 in St. Paul to late Don Sr and Geraldine. He was the second born of 7 children. He served in the Minnesota National Guard for 13 years, was a journeyman for Brown and Bigelow for 21 years, and was owner and operator of Superior Concrete Raising for 16 years. He spent his life doing what he loved; working, family vacations, going out to dinner, and being there for his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Donald Terlinde Sr. and Geraldine Musselman; sister, Judith; granddaughter, Penelope. Survived by wife, Patricia; daughters, Chrystal (Daniel), April (Nate), Kellsey Rae, Montana (Shaun); son, Donald III; friends; Randy Feilen (Amy) and Blayne Williams; especially survived by his grandchildren, Adam, Abby, Zach, Ellie, Faith, Ray, and Zoey. Survived by son, Dale (Barb); daughter, Ruth (John) Schaffer; grandchildren, Stacy (John) Fuhrman, Amanda (Jim) Olson, Brian Post, Jessica (Bryan) Howell & Sarah Schaffer; great grandchildren, Aiden, Peyton, Vivian & Wally; also other family and friends. Wally was a World War II, Korean and Vietnam War Veteran. He loved playing cards, hunting, fishing and being with family. Sobaski, Joanne Marie (Nee Jonas)
Of Inver Grove Heights, Formerly of South St. Paul.
Joanne was born November 5, 1931 and passed away peacefully on September 23, 2022. Preceded in death by husband of 62 years, William; son, Thomas; son-in-law, David Pflanz; granddaughter, Kristin Sobaski. Survived by children, Bill (Gail), Terry Pflanz, Bob (Teri) & David (Karla); 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews, friends and loving companion John Swenson and family.
Joanne grew up in SSP attending SSP high school, there she met a group of girls that would become lifelong friends, the “Dix Amis”. She went on to work at Armours after high school. When she married Bill she became a stay at home mom and eventually returned to the workforce starting at the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce. She eventually ended her career with the SSP HRA, where she met many close friends.
Joanne was an incredible person who touched everyone she met. She was a devoted mother, who loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with immense love and pride. She also loved her extended family and enjoyed the many get togethers with all of them. She loved going to the lake and spending her afternoons having leisurely pontoon rides with family and she loved wintering in Florida. She was active in our community and her children’s lives. She lived her whole life with grace, compassion and kindness. Thank you, mom, farewell and sweet dreams!
Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Friday, October 7th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 9:30-11 AM prior to Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial preferred to the SSP Educational Foundation.
