Age 69 of Eagan
Mary Marjorie Reak died Saturday May 13th 2023, on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Mary was born Oct. 9th 1953, in St. Paul, MN, the daughter of Louis and Marlys Schmitt. She grew up with a strong Catholic faith that she carried throughout her life. Mary had an eye for detail. She was an amazing sketch artist, painter, and floral designer. She enjoyed finding new, good, and old bakeries and restaurants to try. Mary loved planning parties and get togethers with family and friends. She was an amazing cook. Mary helped anyone in need, even strangers. She was always thinking about others and including everyone. She was an avid garage sale shopper and loved to buy and sell antiques. Mary blossomed each spring when she could spend time outside and work in her garden. Mary lived her life for God. She loved to share her Catholic faith with others. She frequented adoration, daily mass, and confession. She prayed with a special devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary. She prayed the Chaplet of Divine Mercy every day at 3pm, and the Rosary every night. She was devoted to her family, and was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was happiest spending time with her grandchildren and family. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Dale; her seven children: Matthew, Therese, Jessie (Andy) Burdick, Marguerite (Jeremy), Nicholas (Bobbi), David (Shannon), Joe (Krista); her 14 grandchildren: Kate, Jimmy, Joshua, Ella, John, Jack, Georgia, Cassius, Marlene, Alvina, Louisa, Loretta, Charlotte, and Benjamin; her siblings: Jenny Farrell, Paul Schmitt, Chris Schmitt, Ann Schmitt, James Schmitt, & Joseph Schmitt; also many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Marlys Schmitt; her baby sister Theresa Schmitt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18th, 2023, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 408 Third St N, South St. Paul, MN, with Fr. Altier officiating. Following mass, internment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery 2101 Lexington Ave S, Mendota Heights, MN. No visitation or luncheon will take place.

Age 84 of Inver Grove Heights
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 10, 2023. Preceded in death by parents; 4 sisters; 4 brothers. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Barb; children, Brian, Bob, Michele (David Jones), Joe (Jeri) & Frances (Anthony) Armstrong; grandchildren & great-grandchildren; also may other family & friends.
Sonny grew up to love farming, hunting, and spending time with family.
Memorial Service 11 am Wednesday, May 17th, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 2075 70th St., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 10-11 am prior to the service. Interment Emanuel Church Cemetery.
Piekarski, Rosemary Jeannette (Krech)
Age 96 of Eagan, passed away May 11.
Preceded in death by husband, Stanley; and sister, Norma Vincevineus. Survived by daughters, Rosemary M, Maxine, Maureen, Michele (Steve) Scribner; son, Gregory (Dian); granddaughters, Rochele (Cainen) Scribner Winger, Lynn Piekarski, greatest granddaughter, Lilly Winger; sisters, Jean Wolf, Katherine (William) Hamlin; nieces, nephews, friends and funny farm family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 8 at noon at Cedar Valley Church, located at 8600 Bloomington Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55425, followed by burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, located at 7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55450.

Donna loved singing in the church choir, doting on her grandchildren, and crafting until her final health challenge.

Age 74 of West St. Paul
Passed away unexpectedly on April 30, 2023. Preceded in death by husband, John; sister, Sandi; parents, Dick & Helen Acker. Survived by daughters, Michelle (Josh) Apman, Deanna Burbank; sister, Peggy Acker; nephew, Rick Heuer; adored grandchildren, Kayla, Tyler, Ashley, Mariah, Drew; great-grandchildren, Savanna, Mia, Ridley & Xander; special friends, Jason (LeAnne) Krech; also aunts, many cousins & friends.
Pat was a Humboldt High School graduate, class of ’66. She grew up on the west side of St. Paul where she met her husband, John, and together they founded and operated Angelo’s Pizza for over 55 years.
Pat was a beloved and lifelong member at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church. A special thanks to Dr. Huynh, and the third floor nursing staff at Woodwinds Hospital, Alex at MHealth Heart Clinic and the ladies at St. George’s Church.

Piette, Scott Daniel
Age 59
Born April 28,1963, and passed away on April 27, 2023, at the age of 59. Born in St. Paul, Scott served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1981 to 1987. His service began as an Airborne Infantryman with the 82nd Airborne Division, and culminated with serving in the Berlin Brigade in West Berlin. He is survived by siblings: Mike (Darlene), Craig (Beth), Brenda, James (Misti), Lisa, Kathy (Dan), Kari (Jared), and 22 nieces/nephews.
Visitation: May 14, 10-11am. Service: 11am, Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave, Inver Grove Heights. Interment: May 16, 10am, Fort Snelling.
Olson, Steven Ellery
Age 80 of Shakopee
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at Hennepin County Medical Center. He was born December 27, 1942 to Sidney and Evelyn Olson in Kiester, MN. After graduating from Kiester High School, he enlisted in the Navy and completed 8 years of service and an additional 20 years in the Navy Reserves. Upon graduating from Mankato State with a degree in Mathematics and Physics, he worked for Lockheed Martin in Eagan as a technical instructor for FAA systems. He received his MBA from the University of St. Thomas. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking, bird watching, yearly vacations with the family and nature walks.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Olson, his parents, his in-laws, Ivan and Evelyn Sansgard, and brothers: Rodney and Royal Olson. Survived by daughters, Michele (Ted) Schnaare & Mindie (Nathan) Schussler; grandchildren: Mikaela (Matt) Vollmar, Matthew (Maddie) Schnaare, Augustus, Griffin and Wyatt Schussler; great-grandson, Declan Vollmar; siblings: Lowell (Laurie) Olson, Michael (Cyndy) Olson, Lola Johnson; also numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
