She was born to Harris & Edna (Kling) Elliott 1924 in Munising MI. She attended the University of Michigan and taught for 2 years. She also worked in accounting and bookkeeping. After retiring, she volunteered in ministries at church and Divine Redeemer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred and son, Joey. She is survived by Fred Baker (Nancy), Kathy Lauer (Joe), Barb (Mike) Speedling, John (Kay) Baker, Mark Baker, Jim (Jean) Baker, Monica (Bill) McMahon, Steve (Tammy) Baker, Terry (Annette) Baker and Jeanne (Joe Meyer); 26 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Saturday, June 5th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St., Inver Grove Hts. Visitation 9-10 AM prior to Mass. Interment St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Church of St. Patrick’s Emergency Assistance Fund. At Marion’s request, attendees are invited to wear bright colors as we celebrate happy memories of her!

A luncheon at the Veterans Memorial Community Center at 8055 Barbara Ave, Inver Grove Heights will be served at 12:30 PM. Those not going to the cemetery are welcome to go to the Community Center at 11:30 AM.

Forslund, Mary “Kay” (Nee Wingert)
Loving mother, sister, aunt and loyal friend. Kay passed away peacefully Nov 27th, 2020 in Inver Grove Heights. Preceded in death by her parents Claire & Mary Wingert, and brother David Wingert. She will be greatly missed by daughter Kristen (Steve) Steichen, son Rob (Heather) Forslund, cherished granddaughter Charlotte Forslund, brothers Harry (Kay) Wingert & Frank (Leanne) Wingert, sister Gayle Wingert, sister-in-law Pat Wingert, and her nieces and nephews.
Kay was active in her church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a longtime P.E.O. member and found much happiness spending time with her friends & family. She greatly enjoyed traveling, going to plays, museums, concerts, lecture series, reading, sharing a meal or just getting together to visit. Kay added an extra touch to everything she did and always made people feel special.
Kay was born on the family farm and grew up in Iowa, graduating from Union Consolidated High School. After earning her teaching certificate, she taught school and lived in several cities before raising a family in Austin, MN, where she was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Later she moved to Omaha, NE where she entered into, and retired from, a career as Election Commissioner, and where she was a member of Presbyterian Church of the Cross. She returned to Minnesota several years ago to be near family, living in Hastings where she was a member of St. Philip’s Lutheran Church, and then finally in Inver Grove Heights.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 7, 2021, 10:30 a.m. at Presbyterian Church of the Cross, 1517 S 114th St. Omaha, NE 68144. Visitation at the church one-hour prior.
Lewis, Thomas
Age 91 of Inver Grove Heights.
Tom passed away peacefully on May 26, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, John and Edna. Survived by loving wife of 65 years, Beda; daughters, Catherine (Wesley) Jones & Mary (John) Franz; son, John (Diane); grandchildren, Lindsey (Cody), Leah (David), Britani (Brandon), Brent, Hannah, Jenna & Thomas; step grandchildren, Sarah (Stephanie), Michael (Bethanie) & Anthony (Jessie); great grandchildren, Jasper, Wren, Ayden, Ethan & Mekhi; step-great-grandchildren, Dominic and Aley; also cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Tom was a St. Paul native, a graduate of Macalester College, served in the US Army Reserve and retired from 3M. He was an avid outdoorsman and an incredible family man. Hickman, Roger A.
Age 78 of Inver Grove Heights, formerly of Shoreview.
Roger Allan Hickman, 78, was ushered home into the loving arms of his Father on Friday, May 28, 2021. While he will be missed by many, we are comforted by Jesus’ own words, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” John 11:25.
Roger was a faithful man who loved the Lord, his family, church and community. He was born in Warren, MN on May 19, 1943. He grew up on a farm in northern MN, attended country school, and graduated from Warren H.S. in 1961. He participated in many high school activities and especially loved competing on the basketball, track, and golf teams. He later picked up tennis and it became a life-long sport for the entire Hickman family. He studied elementary education at Moorhead State University and graduated in 1965.
Roger was a loving teacher and mentor to numerous 6th grade students in the St. Paul Public School District and faithfully served for 34 years. Not an idle man, he retired for a month and began part time work at Enterprise Rent-a-Car for the next 20 years. He loved a clean, detailed car, and always took great care of all which God had blessed him.
On June 27, 1970, Roger married the love of his life, Connie Velde at Granite Falls Lutheran Church in southwestern, MN. They began their life together in Mounds View, MN. Shortly after, they moved to Shoreview for almost forty years, where they began their family and were blessed with three children. Almost ten years ago, they moved to Inver Grove Heights to be closer to all 10 grandchildren. They enjoyed over 50 years of marriage.
An avid fan of every college and professional sports team in Minnesota, Roger thoroughly enjoyed watching and cheering for his teams. He loved encouraging his children and grandchildren in all of their sporting endeavors as well. Always willing to lend a helping hand, Roger found joy in the little things. Serving on various committees and volunteering, he was a man who did not desire to be in the limelight. He gave of his time, talents, and treasures to loved ones and strangers alike.
Roger was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Helen and brother Warren. He is survived by his loving wife Connie; son, Joel (Heather) children: Caleb, Samuel and Thaddeus, daughter Kady (Karl) Monson children: Faith, Asher, Noah, Bethany and Grace; daughter Suzie (Paul) Heideman children: Paige and Grant; sister, Karen Larson; nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved relatives.
Visitation 5-7:30 pm, Thursday, June 3rd, time of remembrance at 6 pm. Funeral service 11 am, Friday, June 4th, Visitation one hour prior, Pastor Nathan Pfeiffer officiating. Berea Evangelical Lutheran Church, 9308 Rich Valley Blvd., Inver Grove Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
Weigel, Mark

Mark was born in Marshfield, WI, on February 14, 1935 and lived most of his life in the St. Paul southern suburbs. One of Inver Hills CC’s first employees, he dedicated his life to helping students, family, and his community. He is survived by son, David; grandsons, Anthony, Christopher, and Kenneth, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by wife, Judith and son, Paul. Rite of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 5th, at 11AM, at St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church, 4455 S. Robert Trail, in Eagan. Visitation from 10-11 AM, with memories to follow at gathering at Old World Pizza, IGH. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
Henke, John A.
Age 82 of Inver Grove Heights, MN
Passed away peacefully on May 22, 2021, surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Stella Henke; sister, Julia Affeldt. Survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Barbara; son, Brian (Sarah) of Lake Elmo, MN and daughter, Janelle (Fraser) Walsh of Glastonbury, CT. He had four grandchildren, Bennett and Blake Henke and Jaelyn and Trey Walsh, who were the highlights of his life. John was born in Minneapolis, graduated from Edison High School, and attended the University of Minnesota. After serving in the Army for two years, he worked in the banking industry for 30 years and eventually founded his own business, All In One in Eagan. He was regularly frustrated by his beloved Vikings and his golf game. John was a devoted family man and took great joy in watching his grandchildren play sports. A founding member of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church and a long-time member of the ROMEOs, he was an avid reader, a loyal servant of God and dedicated many hours to creating amazing model trains, designing cork creations and fixing things around the house. With a great sense of humor, his kind heart and ready smile, he was always up for an adventure or a round of bridge. John lived his life always putting others ahead of himself and will be sorely missed by many. Visitation at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave, Inver Grove Heights, Friday, June 11 from 1-3 PM with a time of sharing at 2:30. Higgins, Timothy D.
Age 67 of Inver Grove Heights.
Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on May 23, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, Marcella & Jack, and also beloved Margaret. Survived by loving wife of nearly 47 years, Barb; son, Justin (Kara Zdan); daughter, Korine (Josh) Headlee; grandson, Grant; sisters, Dana (Lynn Opack), Kathy (Dennis) Danielson, Sheila McDaniel, Maureen (Tom) Crider; brothers, Kevin (Mary), Pat (Michelle); as well as numerous other family and friends.
In his younger years, Tim loved to ski, both water and downhill, and enjoyed several ski trips with his son, Justin. He greatly loved his career in the grocery industry, beginning with his time at Applebaum’s, followed by SUPERVALU, where the favorite part of his job was mentoring people and helping them to grow. He loved that his daughter Korine worked across the hall, and that they were able to work together on numerous occasions, and also looked forward to their weekly lunches and picnics.
Tim had numerous hobbies, including hunting, boating, and fishing. He cherished the many fishing trips and years of hunting with his son, Justin and brother, Kevin as well as with other family and friends. He also enjoyed tinkering with computers, TVs and electronics, and had a small business selling TV parts. Attending multiple sporting events with family was always a favorite of Tim’s. His pride and joy was his family hunting land and cabin. Because he was a jack of all trades, he was able to design a complete system to fully power the cabin, since there was no electricity available on the property.
Most importantly, Tim will always be remembered as a supporting and loving husband to wife, Barb. They were a true team, supporting each other throughout their blessed years together. He was an amazing father, truly the best, to Justin and Korine.
