Passed away peacefully on December 9, 2019. Preceded in death by husband, Jack; grandson, Christian; sisters, Muriel & Dolores. Survived by children, Stephanie (Jim) McCarthy, Jeff (Maureen), Gayle (Tom) Strong, Kurt (Laurel) & Sandy; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pat Mills; also nieces & nephews. Together with her husband Lorraine enjoyed traveling, bowling and golfing. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Saturday, December 14th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St., Inver Grove Heights. Age 69 Longtime resident of Eagan, MN

A devoted father and grandfather passed away at home on December 6, 2019. Preceded in death by parents, Ralph Johnson and Lois Hanson; Uncle Don; sister, Linda Burback; nephew, Steven Burback. Survived by loving son, Jason (Gina); God-daughter, Cynthia Herman; beloved grandchildren, Grace & Levi Johnson, Jake, Sonya, Madi, Tyler, Kristy, Cassie, Sammy & Belle; sister, Heidi (Mark); the entire Hicks Family and many other relatives & friends. Don retired after working 44 “hard” years at the Twin Cites Ford Assembly Plant. McDonough, Marcine Rose (Hopfner)

Age 88 of St. Paul

Passed away peacefully on November 30 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by loving husband, Frank McDonough of 45 yrs; parents, Leo and Clara Hopfner of Millerville, MN. She is survived by her 5 children, Mary Jo (Gary) Hermann, Tom (Nancy) McDonough, Kathy McDonough, Kevin (Franny) McDonough and Molly McDonough along with 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Marcine was born and raised in Millerville, MN and is survived by 4 sisters Patricia, Laverne, Irma and Virginia along with their spouses and many nieces and nephews.  A special thanks to the Nursing staff at Southview Acres and HealthEast Hospice. Fitzgerald, Patrick

Age 75    Died on November 28, 2019

Pat passed away after a 16-month battle with leukemia. He received amazing care at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, especially from his nurses in Oncology – we are truly grateful to everyone. He was born January 5, 1944 to Robert and Agnes Fitzgerald in St. Paul, MN.  After living in Duluth and Minneapolis as a child, Pat graduated from Roosevelt High School in Minneapolis and attended trade school to become a welder.  Drafted into military service, Pat honorably served in the Army in Vietnam.  Upon returning home, he continued working as a welder at American Hoist and Derrick Bros Division for 22 years and then went on to work at the VA Hospital in environmental 22 years before retiring. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Colleen Hansen and Kathleen Miner; brother-in-law, Keith Hansen and his wife Sandy Hansen. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Maria; son, Charles and daughter-in-law, Katie and their sons, Owen Patrick and Charlie Gerard. His brother, Michael Fitzgerald (Marion); brother-in-law, William Miner; six nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews, a great-great-niece and nephew and many cousins. Pat loved life, made friends easily and cherished them. He worshiped his family and was beloved by them.  He will forever be in our hearts. Laak, Holland “Holly”

Age 83 formerly of Albert Lea, MN

Holly passed away unexpectedly on November 23, 2019 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by parents, Rudolph & Clarice Laak. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Janice; sons, Randi (Wendy Haggerty) & Robbi (Susan); step-children, Mark (Sara) Venem, Todd (Julie) Venem & Beth (Jim) Jacobs; 9 grandchildren; and11 great-grandchildren.

Holly worked for over 34 years in Law Enforcement, initially as a Sheriff’s Deputy in Freeborn County, then becoming the youngest elected Sheriff in 1967 where he served for 16 years. In 1982 he became the Executive Director of the Minnesota State Sheriffs Association, serving until his retirement in 1994.

Holly had a strong devotion to his Christian faith and would pray daily for those on his extensive prayer list. His inspiration for life came from his loving family.

Visitation will be Friday November 29th, at 10:00 am, followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 am at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 7160 S. Age 97 of Inver Grove Heights, formerly of Brooklyn Center. Passed away peacefully just past midnight on Saturday, November 16, 2019. Al was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; his parents; 1 sister; 1 brother. He is survived by children, Linda Kleven, Susan (Don) Hastings, Peter (Annette) Bondy, Alison Bondy and Pastor Tess; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters; 3 great-grandsons; cousin, Vivian and many nieces, nephews, friends and fellow residents. Al worked for many years at Honeywell in Minneapolis as an Industrial Engineer. He was a spry 97 year old who had a great sense of humor and loved to read to the All Seasons Preschool kids at Inver Glen where he had happily resided since 2009. The Memorial Service will be held at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church, 7160 So. Robert Trail on Friday, November 29, 2019. Visitation begins at 3:00 pm with the service at 4:00 pm. A reception will follow at Inver Glen Senior Living. Memorials may be given to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, the USO or the Wounded Warrior Project. Interment will take place in Grey Eagle next spring. A huge thank you to all of the staff at Inver Glen for such great care.

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 17, 2019. Survived by her loving siblings, Elinor (Arlyn), Fritz (Marion), and Darwin (Sandy); her children, Kim (Kevin) Kuehn, Kerri (Jeff) Lagoo, Kurt Nadeau (Pam Cherrier), Kory (Christina) Nadeau, and Klint (Katie) Nadeau; 11 grandchildren; d 4 great-grandchildren. Family gatherings, making hand-made gifts, and writing short stories gave her the most joy. She was loved so much and will be greatly missed.
