Went to be with his brother, Jeff on June 12, 2019. Ryan had a heart of gold and a very special relationship with God. He was a friend to all and enemy to none. His charismatic personality and wonderful sense of humor brightened every room. Poechmann, Joyce
Age 96 of Inver Grove Heights
Passed away June 7, 2019. Preceded in death by beloved husband, Charlie; brother, Marlin “Mick” McNeal; and sons-in-law, Jack Andert and Dennis Chada. Joyce was born May 7, 1923, to Leonard and Ruby McNeal in Rock Creek, MN. She was raised in Pine City, MN. Joyce married Charlie June 12, 1943, in Monroe, LA. After Charlie’s discharge from the Army Air Corps, Joyce and Charlie moved to St. Paul where they raised six children. They moved to Carmen Court Apartments in Inver Grove Heights in 1994, where Joyce continued to live after Charlie died in 2000. Over the years, Joyce enjoyed traveling; reading; playing bingo, gin rummy, cribbage, and Yahtzee; going to the casino, and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid Twins, Lynx, and Vikings fan. Joyce was a longtime West Sider and member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Joyce is survived by children, Marilyn Andert, Cottage Grove; Gloria Chada, St. Paul; Nancy Poechmann, Eagan; Mike (Elaine Terpening), Farmington; Valerie (Mike) Seamons, Elk Grove, CA; and Dave (Kerry), Las Vegas; grandchildren, Brenda Chada, Shelley (Dan) Wenner, Steve (Nicolle), Mary (Leang) Sarin, Theresa Poechmann, Angie (Trever) Stockton, Sam (Heather) Johnston, Annie (Brandon) Woodard, Kittra (Josh) Snodgrass, and Travis (Amy); great grandchildren, Ethan and Evie Wenner; Emerson Poechmann, Lexie, Hailey, and Levi Sarin; Brodey, Jett, Levi, and Violet Johnston; Urijah, Rueger, Kinsley, and Orren Woodard; Avery, Judah, Gideon, and Benaiah Snodgrass; and Gabe and Logan Poechmann; and many relatives and friends. Age 93 of South St. Paul, MN, although most of her life was spent in Ely, MN.
She passed away June 3, 2019 at Woodlyn Heights Senior Living, Inver Grove Heights. Mary was born in Ely, MN on April 15, 1926 to Leopold and Frances Kuzma. She is survived by son, Frank (Jeanne LeRoy) of Faribault, MN; daughters, Cynthia (Jay) of Lakeland, MN and Patricia of South St. Paul, MN; grandchildren, Andrew, Demoray (Tom), Leslie and Daryl (Crystal); great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Justin, Steven & Joseph; brother, Peter Lilek of Ely, MN and Frances Anthonsen of Cottage Grove, MN. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Leopold & Frances (nee Lilek) Kuzma and son, Robert. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 4-7 PM Monday, June 10th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights, MN. Interment at the Ely Cemetery, Ely, MN, will be held at a later date.

Passed way unexpectedly on May 28, 2019. Preceded in death by parents; sisters, Joanne and Kathy. Survived by loving wife of 58 years, Verna; children, Jim (Terese), Mary Wood, Angie (Rich) Cassidy and John; grandchildren, Matt, Cassie, Jessica, Tad, Jennifer, Alexandra & Maria; great-grandson, Benjamin; loving dog, Lucy; sisters, Phyllis Anderson, Mary (Harry) Johannsen and Barb (Doug) Laumeyer; also nieces, nephews, many other family and friends. Gently left this earth on May 24 with her loving family by her side. Throughout Missa’s life, she touched many hearts and lives with her beautiful smiles, gentleness, and innocence. She will be forever missed by her family, Jon and Bonnie; brother, Joel (Tammy); Karly, Pete and Riley LePage; aunts and uncles, Sally and Scott Juhl, Danna Rae Dokmo, Jim and Betty Lessard; cousins, dear friends and wonderful caregivers. Twining, Calvin V.
1924-2019
Calvin V. Twining of Inver Grove Hts., MN passed away on the morning of May 22, 2019 at the age of 94. Cal was born November 4, 1924, the second son of five children born to George and Kathryn Twining in Des Moines, IA. He attended school there until 1941. In 1942 he joined the Merchant Marines in WWII, sailing on troop transports, tankers, and freighters around the world.
He married Eleanor Chumbley on December 4, 1948 in Davenport IA. They would have celebrated their 70th anniversary last year.
They raised their family in Des Moines, IA where Cal worked as a fire fighter for 18 years before buying Minnesota Precast Industries, Inc. and moving the family to South St. Paul. He retired in 1989, traveling the world and playing 1000s of rounds of golf.
Cal was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of South St. Paul and served as an elder and trustee there. He also served on the board of National Precast Concrete Association.
Cal is preceded in death by his wife Eleanor, his parents, two brothers: Danny and George, and by his nephew Dan Twining. Cal is survived by his loving children, Candy (Jeff) Hazen, Cristy (Tony) Kallas, Brett Twining, and Mary (Jim) Overby; his grandchildren Jason (Jen) and 3 great grandchildren, and Jeff Kallas, and Lindsay and Molly Overby. He is also survived by his sister Karolyn (Dick) Powell and brother Duane (Nancy) Twining, both of Des Moines, IA; and many nieces and nephews. Cal had many lifelong friends in every area of his life and he will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church 535 20th Ave. North, South St. Paul on Saturday, June 1st 2019, at 11:00am with visitation one hour before and a luncheon immediately following the service.
The family is very grateful to the staffs of the Wealshire of Bloomington and The Pillars of Oakdale for the loving care he received. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 13, 2019. Preceded in death by son, John; 2 sisters; one brother. Survived by loving wife of 71 years, Betty; daughters, Sue (Larry) Haugesag & Sherry (Steve) Rechtzigel; son, Steve (Janet); 7 grandchildren, Jesse Haugesag (Val), Lindsey (Bud) Powell, Lisa (Travis) Larson, Bethany (Will) Creech, Tyler (Dani) Rechtzigel, Heidi (James) Staples, Amy (David) Ladd, and step-grandchildren Sherry Osterman (Bob) and Sebastian Haberoth. 8 great-grandchildren; Sophie, Chase, Preston, Lucy, Nora, Wendy, Grace, and Kate. Ray lived every one of his 93 years to the fullest. He spent nearly his entire work career as General Manager of Wally McCarthy’s Olds.
