Peter George Silva, Jr., 68, of Minneapolis, formerly of Madison and Kenosha, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, following a six-year battle with cancer.

A visitation will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Avenue, Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A Celebration of Life ceremony will follow at 3 p.m. A memorial service will also be held in Kenosha at a later date.

Peter was born June 29, 1958, in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of Peter Sr. and Ruth (née Albrecht) Silva. He was a 1976 graduate of Washington High School in St. Paul, Minnesota. After high school, Peter worked at SIMS Security before enlisting in the United States Air Force, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military service, Peter was a firefighter with the Kenosha Fire Department for 20 years, where he was also a founding member of the Kenosha Area Pipes and Drums Association. After retirement, he was an instructor and mentor to many at Gateway Technical College and the Wisconsin Technical College System.

Peter followed his innate curiosity wherever it led him. He had a lifelong love of travel and exploration, a trait he proudly passed on to his sons. Together, they made lasting memories camping, traveling, and discovering new places.

Peter dedicated his life to service, serving his country, his community, and his family. He was a leader, a friend, and a father, and his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched along the way.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved sons, Peter III (Angela), Kyle (Jenni), and Mitchell (Zindzi), and their mother, Cindy Kluesner; his parents, Peter Sr. and Ruth; siblings Rosie Silva, Bernadette Zenda, Joseph (Wendy) Silva, Anthony (Danyelle Bennett) Silva Sr., and Becky (John Miller) Kogler; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Pauline, Paula, and Madison from St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care in Pete’s final days.
