Passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026 at the age of 96.
Preceded in death by his wife, Elva; and daughter, Linda O’Dell. He is survived by his children, Gail Peterson (John), Alane Wiesner and Karl Wiesner (Dawn); his wife’s children, Mike Derks (Phyllis), Cherie Dahl (Rick), Debbie Olund (Tom) and Tim Derks; Sixteen grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Dick joined the St Paul Fire Dept. in 1958 and rose through the ranks retiring as District Chief in 1994.
On his time off he enjoyed going to the cabin, hunting, fishing and traveling in the RV. He always made time to make memories with the 
family. He was a proud Eagle scout recipient; which is when he first started enjoying many trips the BWCA which he shared with his kids and grandkids.
Memorial Service 11:00 am Wednesday, May 13th at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave. Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 10:00 am – 11:00 am prior to the service. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN. In lieu of flowers donate to your favorite charity in Dick’s Honor.
