Duane Michael Cloud passed away on July 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 68 years old.
Duane was born on May 4, 1958, to Harold and Marion Cloud. He grew up alongside his siblings Debbie, Diane, and Dave, and attended high school at Hill Murray in Oakdale, MN. After graduating, he joined the Air Force ROTC, where he retired as a Captain.
In his early twenties, Duane married Pam Olson and stepped into fatherhood right away, helping raise her two boys, Chad and Scott Jungers, whom he loved as his own sons for the rest of his life. He went on to have two sons of his own, Alex Jungers and Grant Cloud, rounding out a family Duane was endlessly proud of.
Later in life, Duane found Cathy Carlson, whom he married on July 15, 2024, after years of loving partnership. Cathy was, by all accounts, the love of his life, and the two spent their time together traveling and making the most of every trip. Closer to home, Duane was an avid golfer and a devoted fan of the Minnesota Wild, rarely missing a chance to cheer them on.
Duane is survived by his wife, Cathy Carlson; his sons, Alex Jungers and Grant Cloud; his sister Debbie and her wife, Fran; his sister Diane and her children, Emma and Isaac; and many other family members and friends who will carry his memory forward. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Marion Cloud, and his brother, Dave (Barb).
We will remember Duane for his boisterous voice singing the State of Hockey Anthem at the X, his blood-thirsty competitive nature during a Christmas game of Risk, and his staunch political opinions- but mostly for his unwavering generosity towards those he knew and loved. He will be greatly missed.
There will be a celebration of his life scheduled at a later date.
