Age 78 of Inver Grove Heights. Passed away peacefully on Dec. 8, 2016. Preceded in death by her parents, Melvin & Virginia (Sandstrom) Ramberg and by her dear husband of 42 years, Frederick. Survived by children, Frederick, Susan (Paul) Stenzel, Judith (Warren) Ekegren & Edward (Paula); grandchildren Elizabeth (Kevin) Adrian, Andrew (Brianna) Stenzel, David Stenzel, Nicholas, William, Madeline, Julia, Michael and John; great-grandchildren Natalie and Cassie Adrian; sister, Judith Belde; brother, Robert Ramberg; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear & valuable friends. Carol was born August 31,1938 in Marquette, MI coming to St. Paul, MN in 1947. She was a proud 1956 graduate of Central High School where she was a member of the fine “6” Choir. Carol was the first Miss Downtown St. Paul in 1957. In that same year she became a Catholic & continued her love for singing as a soloist and director in various church choirs, which she continued throughout her life. She met Fred in 1956 & they married in 1958 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in St. Paul. Carol and Fred settled in IGH in 1964, where she was a creative Camp Fire Girls leader and directed the Children’s & Teen Choir at St. Patrick’s in the 70’s. She was also very active with the Optimist Club and Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life. After Fred passed away in 2000, Carol was devoted to her grandchildren and gave much time to her friends and her church. She started the perpetual adoration at St. Patrick’s over 10 years ago and it continues to this day. Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Monday, December 12th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St. IGH. Visitation 9-10:30 AM prior to Mass. Interment St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery.
