“A Little Mother”

Marlene was born May 31^st, 1935 in St. Paul, MN.  On Sunday evening, July 28^th, 2019 the angels came and carried her away while surrounded by her family, and she was joyfully reunited and welcomed at the gates of heaven by her dear mother and father, Deloros and Vernon Nyman; her brothers, Bill and Dave Nyman; step-mother, Helen Nyman and many other family members and friends. There is not room enough to tell everything she was to us.  She was a beautiful and devoted wife to her husband, Mike and everything you could ask for in a mother to her seven daughters, Maureen (Jim) Sexton, Colleen (Ward) Wallin, Sharon Lemke, Margaret (Bill) Roszak, Mary Kaye (Sean) Bagge, Molly (Mike) Dexter and Leah (Ron) Riehle. She was “Nana” to, and will be lovingly missed by her 16 grandchildren, Meghan (Derrick) Hosmer, Rachael Sexton; Ian and Ero Wallin; Kayla (Tony) Agbara, Emily (Derek) Tuley and Ryan Lemke; Annie, Jake and Sara Roszak; Michael (Cayleigh) Deller and Aidan Bagge; Bailey and Gracie Dexter; Hailey and Hunter Riehle; 2 great-grandchildren, Emma Kay and Addie James Hosmer. She was amazingly resilient, endured hard times with grace and poise, and turned them quickly into good times and wonderful memories.  She taught us the values of strong faith, unconditional love, courageous spirit, forgiveness, compassion, and that hospitality is no small thing.  She was an avid, avid Twins fan, even naming her fish “Buxton”!  She loved to sew, was a long-time member of The Church of St. Patrick, and never missed a sporting event or band concert for the seven of us! Marlene attended Humboldt High School and Technical College in St. Paul, and worked at Minnesota Pipeline, Divine Redeemer Hospital and the City of Inver Grove Heights.  While it is extremely difficult to express how devastating it is to lose our dear wife and mother, our family remains so very grateful to have been blessed with such a wonderful example who touched so many lives as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, dear cousin, aunt and beloved friend. We wish to express our thanks and gratitude to Southview TCU and to Allina Hospice for their wonderful care and support.  A visitation will be held Thursday, August 1^st from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home,8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights and on Friday, August 2nd, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at The Church of St. Patrick 3535 72^nd St. IGH, followed by a Celebration of Life Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.

Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of his family on July 18, 2019. Preceded in death by grandparents; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Roach; sister-in-law, Sarah Hanson; Survived by wife, Amy (nee Hanson), daughters, Sarah & Lexi; parents, Paul & Mickey; brother, Tom (Cari); sister, Laurie Roach; In-laws, Tim & Jane Hanson; sister-in-law, Katie (Chris) Goralski; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.  Gathering of Family & Friends will be held from 4-7 pm on Thursday, July 25^th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Avenue, Inver Grove Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to teamreichendummies at American Brain Tumor Association.

Arlene peacefully went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2019. Preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Ruth Nelson; brothers, Ronald and Gary. Survived by loving husband of 61 years, Peter; children, Gregg (Stacy), Steve, Mark, Bruce (Christine); grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Lauren, Michael, Tony, Kayla, Frank, Samantha, Roxanne, Emily, Hannah, Ellie & Jake; great grandchildren, Grayson, Harrison and Audrey; also many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Arlene was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was always kind and gentle. She loved to read, engage in many crafts, attend countless athletic events of her children and grandchildren and she enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Leech Lake. Arlene was a devout Christian and showed her love for Jesus through her compassion for others. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12 Noon, Monday, July 22, 2019 with visitation 10 AM-12 Noon prior at First Presbyterian Church, 535 20th Ave. N., South St. Paul. Memorials preferred to Shriners Hospital for Children or the South Saint Paul Open Foundation.

Age 54 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by the laughter and love of many family and friends on July 11, 2019. Preceded in death by father, Robert; sisters, Becky & Kim. Survived by daughters, Katy & Leah and their father, Don; mother, Carolyn Petersen; brother, Todd; sister, Karla (David) Sobaski; nieces & nephews, Carrie, Shawn, Curtis, Jessica, Nicki & Tommy; also great-nieces & nephews, other relatives & her Deep Purple family. Brenda was a 1983 graduate of Simley High School. She began her working career as a manager at McDonalds, pursued her degree in marketing and communications and went to work for Guidant Financial and St. Jude Medical. Memorial Service 11 AM Tuesday July 16^th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72^nd St. Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 9-11 AM prior to Mass at church. Interment St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery. Memorials preferred.
