Age 93 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away peacefully on Sept. 18, 2018. Preceded in death by sister, Sr. Mary Joel, order of St. Joseph of Carondolet; twin brother, Tennyson. Survived by loving husband of 69 years, Robert; children, Patrick (Lynn), Kathleen (Dave), Joseph (Gloria), Mary (Richard), Theresa (Thomas) & Anna (Dean) many grandchildren & great grandchildren, too numerous to mention. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Monday, September 24th, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St., Inver Grove Heights. Visiation 9-10 AM prior to Mass. Private interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Latendresse, Elsie

Age 97, entered heaven on September 17, 2018

Elsie grew up in Gheen, Minnesota, owned the Vanity Beauty Shop in Cook, Minnesota, and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to marry and raise her family.  She also lived in Burnsville, MN and Mount Prospect, IL while raising her children.  She was an Avon Representative in Mount Prospect for over 20 years.  She returned to Minnesota to live for the past twenty-five years. Elsie was an active resident of Timber Hills in Inver Grove Heights, welcoming new residents, helping in the deli, working jigsaw puzzles, and playing 500.  She belonged to St. Patrick Catholic Church and supported that community in a variety of ways, especially by serving funeral lunches.  She will be missed greatly by her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Donald P. Latendresse; her parents, John and Olga Ostlund, and her siblings, Alvin, Victor, Mable (Woods) and Kenneth.  She is survived by her children, Donna (Rich) Larson, Patricia Pousard, Ann, Joseph (Susie), John (Cheryl), Timothy (Lori), and Jeffrey(Veronica)Latendresse.  She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Berreth, Tiffany (Robert) Haider, Nicole Pousard, Zach (Kristen) Elwell, Kim (Mike) Kotur, Eric (Elise) Pousard, Rebecca (Curtis) Zimmerman, Chris (Melissa) Larson, Beth Larson, Jennifer (Greg) Eiserman, Katie Latendresse, Jake Latendresse, Patrick Latendresse, Donald Latendresse, Joseph Latendresse, Stephanie Latendresse, Robert Latendresse, Tyler Latendresse, Nicolas Latendresse, Liana Latendresse; 22 great-grandchildren, Abbey and Lucy Larson; Beatrix, Faye, Thalia, Remi Pousard; Ali, Jake, Alex, Josh Berreth; Savannah, Mason, Maddox Haider; James, Nick, Sofie Elwell; Haven Elwell, Levi and Owen Zimmerman; Ella, Emmett and Charlie Eiserman. Elsie is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Barbara Ostlund, Noella Bosler, Billie Sibbing, and Irene Latendresse and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 21, 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Robert’s Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave.  Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd Street East, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55076 on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 10:00 AM with visitation starting at 9:00 AM. Luncheon follows. A Cemetery Chapel service will be held 12:00 Noon on Monday, September 24 at All Saints Cemetery, 1212 700 North River Road, Des Plaines, IL  60016.

Passed away peacefully on September 15, 2018. Preceded in death by sister, Veronica; brothers, Norbert, Sidney, Roy & Jerry; nephew, Elmer; great-grandson, Zachary. Survived by loving husband of 69 years, Lawrence; children, Bonnie, Tim (Debbie), Gary (Norma), Mary (Greg) Evgen & Mike (Cheryl); 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; also other family & friends. Friends – growing up with Gwen, longtime friend Florence, neighbors, co-workers, special relationship with brother Jerry, nephew and nieces; Elmer and Laverne, and Joyce

Being a committed Catholic – believing that Jesus was the light and the way.  A verse she quoted to Father Martin and those in the room at Regina Care Center

Doing things outdoors – hanging clothes, taking care of her plants and flowers, or just sitting on the deck.  She loved the squirrel that she hand fed and that would crawl up on her lap or shoulder.  She never wore a pair of shoes unless she had to.

Reading – the Bible, educational books, medical information and self help books.  We often called her “Dr. Mom”!  When she could no longer read she continued her enjoyment of reading with the use of audio books.

Learning – while she only completed the 8th grade, her learning never stopped.  Her knowledge amazed all, and those around her would seek out her advice.

Sound of the ocean – She recorded the ocean sound while on a trip to Florida.  Her granddaughter, Erin, shared the sound of the ocean with her from Jamaica and Hawaii.

Minnesota State Fair – mini donuts and the Village for those great finds that she just couldn’t pass up.

Soap Operas – especially As the World Turns, All My Children, The Young and the Restless and the Guiding Light

Music – a fan of Gene Pitney, Sandy Nelson, and polka music.

Peanut M&M’s – even when she was watching her diet.

Visits by her grandchildren – everyone knew where the treat drawer was.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Friday, September 21st, at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 749 6th Ave. So., South St. Paul. Visitation 9-10 AM prior to Mass at church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.

Pirkl, Charles John

Born on December 8th, 1956 to Arthur and Mirrella Pirkl, passed away September 8th, 2018 after a long struggle with various illnesses. Chuck was an excellent husband, father, brother, uncle, and much more. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Maher) Pirkl; three children, Pam, Maddi (Bobby) Holmes, and Mike (Marissa Smith); 5 siblings, Mary, Ken (Mary Lou), Mark, Joan (John), and Susan; as well as many in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and dear friends. Chuck was Inver Grove Heights’ most loved barista for 7 years at his coffee shop Pirks Coffee where he was blessed to meet many wonderful people. He was an avid car lover, Twins, and rock-n-roll fan. Memorial Service 7 PM Friday, September 14th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on September 4, 2018. Preceded in death by mother, Pauline; brothers, Scotty & Terry. Survived by loving daughters, Hannah & Olivia; also other relatives and loving friends. Alisa was a 14-year survivor of lung and brain cancer. 4/11/1981 – 9/3/2018

Passed away unexpectedly on September 3rd 2018. Son of Deb Schneck and the late Lawrence Schneck. He leaves behind his wife, Karina Schneck; children, Alora, Savelli and Sihaya Schneck; brother, Robert Schneck; also many aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws who loved him dearly. He was a loving husband and father as well as a caring friend and dedicated and respected union brother and co-worker. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege to have known him.
