Briguet, Augustin “Gus”

Passed away peacefully on October 21, 2021 after a year-long battle against cancer. Preceded in death by parents, Louis & Alvene; brother, Dennis. Survived by loving wife of 54 years, MaryAnn; daughters Chris (Peder) Wallace & Jenelle (Chris) Painter; son, Ret. Col. A. Peter II (Sherry); grandchildren Luke, Maria, Alyssa, Brooklynn, Zach, Gus, Josh, Lou and Bruce; siblings Rick (Renee) & Kathy (Jane); sister-in-law, Jan (Mike); also many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Former Bank President with over forty years banking experience. Served as Board member for the following orgs: River Heights Chamber of Commerce; St. Croix Valley Chapter of the Girl Scouts of America; Youth Service Bureau of Washington County; Central Square Center Advisory Board; and Gopher Corp. Chair of Progress Plus, a SSP/IGH business development organization, and President’s Advisory Board, IGH Community College. Earned Bachelor’s Degree from College of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN.

Visitation 4-7 pm on Thursday, October 28th at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am on Friday, October 29th, at St. Thomas Aquinas, 920 Holly Ave., St. Paul Park, with visitation 9:30-10:30 am prior to Mass. Private interment Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights. Memorials preferred to donor’s choice.

Schultz, Maureen H. (Nee Koehnen)

Age 77 of St. Paul, MN

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 20, 2021.  Preceded in death by parents, Leo and Helen Koehnen; brother Jack Koehnen; sisters, Margaret Hazzard, Marilyn Andler, Marlene Palumbo; ex-husband James Schultz, parents-in-law Bud and Loretta Schultz.  Survived by daughter, Jean Vickerman (Schultz); step children, Greg (Lynn) and Linda Schultz.  Reenie will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends; and beloved Maggie.  A Celebration of Maureen’s Life will be held from 5-8 PM Friday, October 29th, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights.  In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the family.

Ruberto, Nicholas Antonio

It is such a shock to say our son, brother, devoted husband, loving daddy, patient friend and energetic colleague is gone. Nicholas Antonio Ruberto, son of Damon Ruberto, Champlin, MN and Liane Lancaster of Grand Rapids, MI, died suddenly on Friday October 15, 2021. Services will be held to celebrate his special uniqueness, persistence, enthusiasm, and loving heart on November 6, 2021 at Teamsters Local 120, 9422 Ulysses Street NE, Blaine, MN 55434. Campbell, Douglas M.

Born in Pasadena, CA on March 7th, 1925. He passed away on October 14th, 2021 at the age of 96. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa, and great grandpa. His cheerful attitude and bright smile were infectious. He is preceded in death by wife Muriel Campbell and 2nd wife Lucy Jones. Survived by his children Brian Campbell, Lisa Campbell, Bill (Laura) Campbell, 11 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Doug was a WWII veteran. He taught science at the South St. Paul Junior High School for 30 years. He loved to sing and sang many years in the church choir and in the Indianhead and Desert Aires Barbershop choruses and quartets. His life touched many and he will be missed dearly. Service followed by a Celebration of Life will be held at Roberts Funeral Chapel 8108 Barbara Ave. in Inver Grove Heights on Saturday, November 13th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to The Gary Sinise (Veterans) Foundation.

Franciscus, Jerome (Jerry) Vernon

Age 82 of Inver Grove Heights
Passed away on October 17, 2021. Preceded in death by wife, Bernadine; parents, Laverne & Dorothy; brother, Don; brother-in-law, Mark Bouljon; great-grandson, Austin Friesz. Survived by children, Cindy, Shelly McPhillips (Robert Zilla), Tony (Kari), Lisa (Kevin) Solberg; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barb Bouljon & Cheryl (Cornie) Paulson; sister-in-law, Kathi Franciscus; also many relatives and friends. Jerry was in the restaurant business for many years eventually going on to own Jerry’s Pizza in Shakopee, MN. He finished off his career at the Sam’s Club Distribution Center in Savage, MN. He loved golfing, hunting, fishing, bowling and the MN Vikings just like his wife, Bernie. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, he loved going to the Boundary Waters with his lifelong friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend to all. In honor of Jerry’s love for golf feel free to wear your favorite golf attire. Visitation 4-7 PM Friday, Oct. 22nd, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Mass of Christian Burial 11 am Saturday, Oct. 23rd, at the Church of St. Patrick, 3535 72nd St. Inver Grove Heights with visitation 10-11 AM prior to Mass. Interment St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery. Thornton, Dennis R.

Age 76 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away peacefully on October 17, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph & Grace; brothers, Robert, Roland, Jerry, Joe; sisters, Sue Hill & Joanne Gustafson.  Survived by loving wife of 55 years, Sandy; sons, Mike (Margaret) & Steve; grandchildren, Tommy, Jack, Dru; also many nieces, nephews & friends.  Dennis served as a volunteer IGH fireman for 9 years and loved tinkering in the garage. He was a Scout leader, Sunday school teacher and helped establish and coach in the IGH Baseball Association. Memorial Service 3 PM Saturday, October 23rd at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights. Visitation 1-3 PM prior to the service.  Private interment at Fort Snelling at a later date. Memorial preferred to Gary Sinise Foundation or Make a Wish Foundation.

 

Davis, Irene A.

Age 91 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away on September 22, 2021. Preceded in death by husband, Dorne; siblings. Survived by sons, Mike (Kathy) & Jeff; daughters, Gayle (Mark) Skarpohl & Sandra Russell; grandson, Jake Russell. Irene enjoyed being active; she was an avid golfer, tennis player and walker throughout her life. Private family graveside service will be held next summer.

Dybedahl, Maynard Allan, Jr.

Age 64 of Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Passed away peacefully on October 17, 2021. Preceded in death by parents, Maynard & Eileen. Survived by son, Rick (Brandy); daughter, Renee (Nick) Jones; grandchildren, Brent, Bailey, Austin & Brody; brothers, sisters, many nieces and nephews. Maynard was a proud US Navy Veteran. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. A Celebration Maynard’s Life will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday, October 21st, at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave., Inver Grove Heights, MN.

Graveside Service 12 noon Saturday, October 30th, at Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights, MN followed by a gathering of friends at The Bierstube in Inver Grove Heights.

Apitz, Karyn Kay

Age 65 of Inver Grove Heights

Passed away peacefully on October 10, 2021.  Karyn, daughter of Spencer and Alice Brisso was born on June 4, 1956 in Medelia, MN.  Karyn became a child of God through Holy Baptism on Dec. 14, 1956 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in St. James, MN and confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church on May 24, 1970.  She married Arlen Apitz on June 18, 1988 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Inver Grove Heights, MN.  She is also survived by sister, Deanna (Dave) Dahlberg; also other family and friends.  Memorial Service 11 AM Tuesday, October 19th, at Crown of Life Lutheran Church 115 Crusader Ave W, West St. Paul, Visitation 10-11 AM prior to the service.  Interment at Riverview Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials preferred.
